NOx - during the efficiency test we have recorded an 84% decrease in NOx presence in the first 7 minutes of usage. NOx stands for the mixture of two of the most polluting nitrogen oxides, that is nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), two gases with a pungent smell. Nitric oxide is notably formed in internal combustion engines (i.e. diesel engines) from nitrogen naturally present in the atmosphere when combined with hihg temperatures and large quantities of oxygen.
BACTERIA - during the efficiency test we have recorded an 83% decrease in the number of bacteria during the first 3 hours of usage. One Albero device was placed inside a furnished, 22 square meters (236.8 square ft) office. The samples were collected from 6 different points in the room, according to the requirements of the Italian law (UNI EN ISO 14644-1: 2016). The contamination levels were measured using these cultivated samples: Agar plate for bacteria: Trypticase Soy Agar; Agar plate for fungi: Sabouraud Agar.
FORMALDEHYDE - during the stress test for the reduction of formaldehyde, albero was placed in an air locked room with 5 liters of formaldehyde. The results showed that Albero, at maximum power, was able to remove 4 times the amount of formaldehyde specified in the WHO guidelines. Formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a strong smell. It is used in construction materials, woodworking resins and in the production of house products, paints, upholstery, varnishes and finishes. Exposure to formaldehyde can cause health problems.
PM - Tests have shown that, in 2 hours of usage, PM dropped by 79% for PM 1 (ultra-fine particles with a diameter between 0.3 and 1 micron) 85% for PM 2.5 (fine particles with a diameter between 1 and 2.5 microns) and 82% for PM 10 (coarse particles with a diameter between 2.5 and 10 microns) according to the standards set by the Italian law (UNI EN ISO 14644-1: 2016).
Particulates (also known as PM or particulate pollution) are complex mixtures of solid and liquid particles found in the air. Those with a diameter lower than 10 microns are dangerous since once inhaled can attack the heart and lungs, which in some case can lead to dire health repercussions.
Studies have linked exposure to PM to numerous health repercussions such as: eye, throat and nose irritation, worsening of existing respiratory conditions and premature death in subjects with heart or lung diseases.
